/// SPECIAL ABILITY
Teleportation – Teleportation is the ability to physically transport one’s self to a different location. This is accomplished through distorting the elements of the spatial plane, which essentially allow transportation of one’s body to another location. In doing so, one is able to physically transport him or herself to any location on the planet. When teleporting, the user simply vanishes from sight and will reappear the same way in a blinking sort of fashion.
When using the power the user merely concentrates intently on the desired location. Almost instantaneously, the user is then physically moved to the desired location. The user is also able to perform multiple teleports within a short amount of time. Additionally, the user is able to teleport other people with them through means of physical contact alone.
[/i]
/// ABILITY LIMITS
The main limitation to teleportation lies in the fact that the user must have accomplished one of the following before successfully teleporting. In order to successfully teleport, the user must either have previously been to the location or have seen a picture of said place. If they have not done so, the user must then mentally picture the location within their mind’s eye or physically look at a photograph of the location. In the case of teleporting relatively short distances, the user can physically look at the place where they want to teleport and essentially do so.
As far as teleporting other people is concerned, the user is only able to bring two people at a maximum on their teleport. However, they are also able to teleport other material objects equivalent to the mass of two average size people. Again, this is only possible by the means of physical contact. In addition, the user can physically exhaust themselves in one of two ways. After completely an extraordinarily long teleport (continent to continent) the user is physically unable to teleport again for roughly twenty minutes. However, if the user is teleporting relatively short distances, they will find themselves exhausted after roughly five to seven jumps (though there is some leeway in both directions) and will not be able to teleport again for roughly five minutes.

/// PERSONALITY
John Calhoun is an incredibly educated and intelligent individual. A master in the art of public speaking, John is always one to speak well in an extremely educated sense. Though he is very astute, John finds little tolerance in people who have not reaped the benefits at their disposal and gotten an education. In conjunction, John is also an extremely smooth, savvy individual who is able to talk his way into or out of most situations. He chooses his words wisely and speaks as eloquently or harshly as the situation deems fit. Once he sets his mind to something, John often finds himself driven to complete his task, and is not one to usually flake on something.
Although John holds a vast amount of intellect, he often finds his curiosity getting the better of him. Simply, John likes to know the answers to things. More over he feels compelled to discover the answer to his question, out of a mere incessant need to know. Despite being so likeable John is very stubborn who doesn’t like to follow orders. Rather, John likes to be in control and often goes against any obvious chain of command, which serves to inhibit him severely. Although John is extremely savvy, he sometimes speaks with a sense of sarcasm that is often picked up by the extremely aware or knowledgeable.
John also holds extremely diverse tastes in most matters. As far as music is concerned, John frequently listens to anything from the eclectic styles of the Classical and Jazz genres to the harsh undertones of Rock ‘n’ Roll. Succinctly, John also revels in his diversity by enjoying the grandiose of insatiable red wines and thick stouts and porters. Moreover, John is a practicing Catholic who considers himself to be fairly religious. Through this, he abhorrers truly unnecessary act of violence. Though, this is not to say that John doesn’t understand how the ends justify the means.

/// HISTORY
John Calhoun was born to Susan and Geoff Calhoun in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on a stark March morning. For the most part, the Calhoun family was moderately prosperous as a middle class family. They were always able to make ends meet, but never quite had a superfluous amount of wealth. For the majority of his childhood, John lived in Philadelphia with his family, which expanded after a few years to include his brother, Harold.
Susan Calhoun, a devout Catholic, insisted that the boys be afforded a proper education (despite their household income) and succinctly enrolled them both into a nice Catholic school from an early age. Though Harry begrudgingly accepted Catholicism, John willingly chose to accept it and fully embraced the Catholic faith. Even at a young age, John found himself plagued by questions and general curiosities, and while his parents didn’t always have the answers to them, Catholicism certainly seemed to.
Throughout his youth, John experienced two events that definitively sculpted his person. The first event occurred roughly when he was ten years old. John and Harry were playing outside their home, when John happened to accidentally step upon a fallen bee nest. Instantaneously, John was attacked by a horde of yellow jackets that stung him repeatedly. Though he quickly escaped the wrath of the bees, John found himself in terrible pain and anguish from the many bee stings he received, and ever since has always been mildly afraid of bees.
The second event within John’s youth stems from an experience within Catholic school. Around the age of sixteen, John found himself convinced by Harry to perform a trick on one of the nuns. Whilst Sister Theresa was using the rest room, John strategically placed a thumbtack on her seat. The following hell storm that ensued when Sister Theresa returned and took a seat at her desk was expected. However, John definitively did not expect the punishment he received. Ominously, Sister Theresa took her favorite ruler and using the metal edge, gave John close to twenty lashings on his right wrist. Ever since that day, the bond between John and his brother was never the same. He felt distanced from Harry, no longer able to trust him, as he should have.
After finishing high school, John found himself in high spirits as he was accepted into Fordham University in the Bronx, New York. Sure it was far away from home, but the opportunities that this would bring him were too bountiful to pass up. It was, Fordham, after all. Though he was hesitant to leave home at first, John soon found himself acclimating quite well to his surroundings and college life altogether. Like most, John joined clubs, made new friends, and even took up water polo as an intramural sport. However, there was one activity that John took up, that truly captivated him and that was escape artistry.
One evening, John found himself stumbling into a seminar on the art of escape artistry. Within moments of watching the artist unentangle himself from a straight jacket, John found himself trapped and entranced by the entire idea. In the weeks to come, John researched the likes of Harry Houdini and began to teach himself the art and craft of escape artistry. From here, John moved into other related fields like illusions and parlor tricks. At the end of his four years at Fordham, John not only came out with a dual degree in Theology and Philosophy, but also found a profound love for the intriguing art of illusions and escape artistry.
After college, John found it difficult to find work and began traveling the country in an effort to exploit his talent as something of a magician. As it turned out, John found that he was actually quite good at what his trade. Slowly, the young man began to perform in small clubs and restaurants around the United States. Traveling from gig to gig, John was making a steady living, and though his parents didn’t necessarily approve right away, for once in his life, John didn’t care.
Over the course of the next decade, continued to travel the country performing his art everywhere and anywhere. He was beginning to build quite the following and fan base. More importantly, money was beginning to flow more fluidly than it had in the past. However, during the course of one of his performances, the unexpected occurred. As he lay tangled amidst a mass of chains within a tank full of water, John came to a shocking realization, as he found that he couldn’t escape. As he lay, destined to die in a watery coffin, John closed his eyes. He began to pray, think, and try to will his way out of the chamber. Just as he felt his lungs about to give in and try to breath in a watery death, the unimaginable happened. Within the blink of an eye, John had appeared on stage before the very chamber he was about to die in.
Though he played it off as a part of the act, John knew that there was something else, something else just short of a miracle. As he sat back stage, running over what had just happened in his mind, John was confronted by a stranger. The young woman claimed to know that that wasn’t a part of the act, and that he actually had some sort of special power. Though he didn’t know at the time, what the hell she was talking about, John listened. Distraught and confused, the woman’s words were much more comforting than anything else at his disposal. After speaking for some time, the woman then handed John a business card for the law firm, Taft and Harkinson. With it she said, came a job, a steady income, and more importantly, answers. Over the next couple of days, John lay deep in thought until he came to his final decision and accepted the job at the law firm, where he has been ever since.

John Calhoun sat atop one of the wrought iron beams towards the highest point of the Eiffel Tower. The brisk Parisian air bristled past him as he watched the city in wonder. The entire city made him stare in astonishment. So full of life. The city as a whole beat in unison as the lights of streetcars flashed by quickly. As the sun descended below the horizon, John smiled brightly. Everything seemed so peaceful and calm. It was nice. Paris, like New York, was a beautiful, vibrant city that he had simply come to love. Sure Philadelphia was nice. It was his hometown, after all. But, there was no way the city could compare to some of the irreplaceable beauty of Paris. The city of lights was without a doubt named accordingly.
Ever since he had discovered his ability, John had been reaping obvious benefits. No longer did he have to worry about being late for a meeting. No longer did he have to pay for public transportation. Planes, trains, and automobiles were no longer a necessity. It was refreshing and certainly freeing. More importantly, this new ability allowed John the freedom to start traveling the rest of the word at his leisure. Before manifesting his ability, John never really seemed to have the funds to explore the world and leave the country more than once in a while. He was only able to visit a handful of countries once every few years and often found himself not being able to complete everything that he wanted to do. Now, John could feasibly visit every country in the world over the course of six months. One day he could be in London and the next he could be in Tokyo. The limits were seemingly endless.
Softly, the young man whistled the sounds of a familiar tune. “Je vois la vie en rose…” They were the words of the famed singer Edith Piaf, and they were wondrous. They reflected the beauty and sentiment of Paris totally without a doubt. As the night sky began to settle, John sighed ever so slightly as the wind began to blow with a stronger force. He knew it was about time to leave. God knows what people would think if he spent too long on top of such a landmark. Right now he’d only been there for a few minutes. He was a fleeting glimpse to the untrained eye, and even if someone did see him, they’d chock it up to something mistaken. As he eyed the area one final time, the Eiffel Tower began to twinkle brilliantly. Thousands of little light bulbs erupted in a burst of light as they flashed on and off repeatedly. With one last breath, John took in the view before him, before looking down to the ground. Then, in the blink of an eye, he was gone.
