/// SPECIAL ABILITY
Seismokinesis – Sam’s primary ability is to generate and manipulate vibrations. Through this, Sam is able to emanate concussive waves of intense vibrations through his hands. These vibrations then cause tremors wherever they strike causing things like glass to break or steel to be dented. When someone is struck by one of these vibrations they are subjected to a variety of different affects. Among these, the foe can be subjected to a strong concussive force causing them to be knocked backwards several feet. In addition, the foe can also be disoriented and confused by the sheer magnitude of the vibrations, causing a sense of delirium. Sam can also fire his vibrations into the earth causing a miniature seismic tremor or earthquake in which the ground affected will shake and tremble. Sam’s ability can also be used by clapping both hands loudly or stomping his foot upon the ground, to create a larger concussive force.
Echolocation – Upon closing his eyes and snapping lightly to release a low level vibration, Sam is able to see the environment around him. This is accomplished as the vibrations travel through the surrounding area and bounces off the nearby objects, making them, seemingly visible to Sam’s second form of vision. Through this, Sam is able to see everything around him for a moment as the vibration passes the object, giving him a rough idea as to where everything around him is. While ‘seeing’ in this manner Sam is given the rough details of people and other objects, however the details remain vague.

/// ABILITY LIMITS
Sam is limited in his ability in that he must be careful of where he uses his ability in order to protect himself from his own power. If he were to create a strong blast inside of an enclosed space, Sam’s ears would suffer the same ways his subject’s would. In addition, Sam is not able to affect large areas with his ability, as it would be too strenuous for him to handle. Effectively, Sam is only able to target one or two people at a time with a concussive blast. Within this, he is only able to affect the ground in a localized manner (the immediate ten-twenty feet) as much more would also be too much for his body to handle. In addition, when Sam’s victims become disoriented the effects last roughly for two minutes.
While using his Echolocation, Sam’s sense of hearing becomes heightened, and becomes extremely sensitive. Thus, he is left very vulnerable when using it and can succumb to sensory overload very quickly. Succinctly, Sam’s echolocation only extends roughly four-six feet before the vibration dissipates, leaving Sam effectively blind, until he chooses to open his eyes.

/// PERSONALITY
Sam Keaton is an extremely knowledgeable individual. From a very early age, Samuel received excellent schooling to which he proved to be adept in many aspects of learning. Sam’s essence shines in his work ethic. From the very beginning, Sam’s parents taught him to do everything at a hundred percent proving to strengthen his willpower and overall reliability. Thus, Sam is often considered a go to guy, as people know that they can count on him.
Although he knows it can affect his day-to-day activities, Sam is sometimes very stubborn when he is standing up for something that he happens to believe in. Often, he will refuse to back down and give into another’s demands over something that he truly stands for. Through this, Sam is very outspoken and will often voice his opinion when he feels the need to. In voicing his opinion in this manner, Sam’s interest in philosophy is often shown explicitly.
In loving philosophy, Sam has learned what it takes to be objective in most matters, even though this is hardly the case. When Sam is faced with a problem he often finds himself following a purely Machiavellian viewpoint in believing that the ends justify the means. Although he usually sees both sides to the coin Sam has no tolerance for ignorance and finds the very notion to be disgusting. In addition, Sam holds no regard for religious zealots and extremists finding them to be very annoying as they are immensely caught up in their beliefs, not taking the time to examine the opposition.

/// HISTORY
Sam, originally Shlomo, was born to James and Sarah Keaton on March 25th, 1972 in Manhattan. Both of Sam’s parents have been in America since the turn of the century as a part of the influx of immigrants from Europe. While Jame’s family stemmed from England Sarah’s family came from Poland and Romania. In order to keep in touch with their roots, Sarah insisted that her two children be given traditional, Hebrew names. However, when the time came, if they chose to, their children could freely change their name to the Americanized version. James, a local judge for the city and his mother, a prominent banker on the lower east side did all they could in raising Sam and his younger brother, Max. Although because of their professions they were often away from their children they attempted to instill the best of values in their children by affording them the best education and care money could buy.
As a child, Sam had always loved to be moving around and thoroughly enjoyed the times when his nanny would bring him to the park. There he was always able to find something to do whether it was having a race with his brother or jumping off a swing and flying through the air. On one occasion, while Sam and his brother were on the swings in the park, Sam jumped as he normally did. However, he tripped as he landed, and dove face first into the dirt where he collided with a small rock, which cut him just below the right eye. Although he was okay, Sam still keeps a small token of the occasion in the form of a scar.
As a portion of the cultured, wealthy lifestyle Sam’s parents were able to afford him, he was immersed into the arts at a ripe, early age. At first, Sam found this aspect of life to be very difficult because he had yet to find his niche. He showed no interest in the arts and found distaste in most classical music. Finally, one afternoon Sam found an old guitar in his father’s closet and immediately begin to strum the instrument forming an instant attachment to the instrument which flourished even further upon being introduced to the musical genius of Bruce Springsteen. At his parent’s behest, Sam also took part in a variety of different activities to widen his array of talents. Thus, over the course of his childhood Sam joined the football and baseball teams and even began to dabble in the arts by painting. Upon graduating high school Sam was hesitant to go on to college immediately, but at his parent’s urging applied and was accepted to New York University, where he eventually graduated with a bachelor’s degree in philosophy.
Upon finishing college, Sam went against the norm and set out across the country in a beat up old car that took him wherever his heart desired. Over the course of roughly ten years, Sam stayed in towns big and small, while working a variety of obscure and common jobs ranging from a mechanic in Tuscaloosa to a small restaurant owner in Grinell, Iowa. While living on his own on the outskirts of a small western town in Texas Sam’s life seemingly changed forever. After being locked out of his home, Sam had found himself pounding and stomping at his door, when multiple rippled rings appeared from his hand and seemingly blew the door of its hinges with tremendous force. Mortified, Sam stood alone in the quiet of his home in an effort to duplicate the effect again. With a lot on his plate, Sam dedicated an immense amount of time to harnessing this ‘ability’ before it got out of hand. Sam knew without a doubt in his mind, that his abilities were certainly not a curse, and just another tool to use in his everyday life.
To say the least, Sam was a ramblin’ man for a decade and a large portion of his life, while exploring the nooks and crannies of the United States of America. That is, until he came to Phoenix, Arizona. It must have been something about the city, but something clicked and Sam felt comfortable. While it could have been the similarities that the city shared with New York City, Sam felt a connection with the city. Immediately, Sam settled down and has been living there ever since, working under the helm of the Sharp Agency, an agency that employs other specials who covertly work to help and prevent other people with powers.

Sam Keaton walked hurriedly through the streets of downtown Phoenix, Arizona. The city he had grown to love was vastly different yet exceedingly similar to his hometown of New York City. Foremost, it was generally much warmer in Phoenix and was one of the things that Sam had the most trouble adjusting to. Although he did hate the cold, he wasn’t used to the constant heat during the sweltering days of the southwestern area of the United States. With beads of sweat forming upon his brow, Sam weaved precisely through the crowded sidewalk as if he were home in New York City. With the crowdedness of New York, Sam had developed tunnel vision when he needed to be somewhere and usually ignored those around him, not bothering to speak to anyone as he headed in his desired direction.
As Sam continued onward, he ignored the pain in his left knee. The pain was something he had come to be used to and usually just pushed through it. For the most part the pain came and went, but still afflicted him at least once a day. It was an annoyance sometimes, while other times it became much more severe. However, Sam pushed forward and paid no attention to the throbbing pain in his knee. It was a beautiful day out and he had to get home as quickly as possible; Sam was expecting a phone call from a very important person, who unfortunately didn’t have his cell phone number. So, now Sam (albeit slightly annoyed) found himself hurrying as quickly towards his car: an ’88 Vette colored a deep shade of blue that Sam kept in tip-top shape.
As he reached his vehicle Sam swiftly unlocked the door and slipped into the seat. Within a matter of seconds Sam had buckled his seat belt and put the car into gear that now appeared as a flash of blue as he sped down the streets of Phoenix. As he weaved his way through traffic, Sam’s grip tightened around the wheel as his hands began to become noticeably sweaty. He couldn’t afford to miss the important phone call. Although it seriously pissed him off, Sam sped onward through the streets and onto the highway. What was about fifteen minutes passed like seconds to Sam as his car’s engine roared above the rest.
Finally, Sam had reached his home as he threw the car into park while dust and gravel erupted into the surrounding air. As he emerged from the car, Sam could hear the distinct sound of his phone ringing from within his home. Without any hesitation, Sam took off in a sprint and moved toward the door as if his life depended on it. With great force, Sam flung the door open and dove for the nearest phone all the while praying the person on the other line hadn’t hung up. Although there was a slight silence at first, Sam smiled as he then heard the unforgettable voice upon the other end of the telephone line. Quickly, Sam covered the receiver to collect his composure. After a brief moment, Sam placed the phone up to his ear and spoke smoothly. “Hello? Yeah. Sorry about that. I was in town and just got back. It’s good to hear your voice.”
