"That should definitely scare people into getting their vaccinations next year, wouldn't you think?" the blond-haired woman asked her co-anchor. She kept her eyes on the screen and smiled at the point she had made, but it wasn't that which would catch special attention.
Her co-caster, a tall and lanky asian man in a maroon suit, opened up into the next bit of news with a grave expression, "A hundred and thirty-one people dead and forty-two injured in a train accident that has authorities completely baffled. You heard right, the train was bound from Raleigh, North Carolina when it apparently slipped off of the tracks over a ravine in the mountainous regions. There are fewer survivors than dead." he informed.
The woman added in with a now-grave expression as well, "Causes for the wreck are currently unknown at this time. The train was apparently owned and operated by the corporation known as AuraFiz, and carried several families of employees as well as a great deal of freight," she described, "Disaster relief has responded quickly to the tragic --"
To whom it would matter most, the TV went silent before shutting off completely, in two places at once, but both in the same expansive city of Atlanta, Georgia.
In a room usually used for meetings, a handful of important figures had quickly assembled, having had quicker delivery of the news. The young man who stood at the head of the table dropped the remote onto it's transparent glass surface rather carelessly. His stone-rigid expression seemed stoic, resolved, yet very angry all at once.
"I have unnerving suspicions." he stated to them all, "Two survivors, independent from one-another, have told us that there was supposedly a man on the tracks. There was a commotion over it before it all went awry. Both of those survivors died in the hospital from wounds." he informed.
"We need answers and we need them now. We expect you to work to find them quickly, because if our suspicions are correct, we need to be prepared for it."
He ran his hand over his shaven scalp, and spun on his heel, keeping one hand at the small of his back at all times, and quickly departed. He had shown them what they needed to see, and given his orders to AuraFiz's elite and most trusted.
Elsewhere...
In her dimly lit hotel room, an fairly large, older woman in a crisp, red suit, with short, curly hair ashed her cigar casually and lifted her phone with the other hand, quickly keying in a response to her last text, which read, "News channel, right now. -V"
The next text soon came in, as if responding to her question, "Investigate immediately."
