Hello and welcome! Variable Intricacy is open for business, so that means we'd love your help in getting the plot up and rolling! Feel free to take a look around the site, or to stay and chat with us for awhile!

First of all, we've had some recent departures.
Needless to say, the site is in a dire state. It needs staff members qualified in various fields, the most important of which being Coding, Graphics, Application Review, etc.
People interested may apply to staff for a position.
The site itself is officially on a kind of hiatus. If you wish to RP, feel free, but the plot is on freeze. We do not have enough members to really do anything at the moment. We need more players. If you bring your friends, help advertise, etc. We may be able to get the site back up to an active level, work on plots and things such as this.
I won't lie, there's a chance the site won't make it, and I accept that. On the other hand, those of you who help to restore it will become a part of it's foundation.
Secondly, an important reminder.
While on VI, you are expected to mind the rules and follow them. This especially pertains to conduct. We do not like drama on VI, and we will not have players around who perpetuate it by bashing and belittling other people unecessarily. Are you just kidding? Well if the person didn't like your comment, respect their wishes and do not continue to bash them. It's just as simple as that.
Everyone should get along, and there's no excuse for people outright REFUSING to do so. This also means that as a player, you can expect that your staff will not tolerate this kind of behavior being done to you.
Some have forgotten how to show respect, and treat others as they would like to be treated. Insults and flaming will not be tolerated. Show respect to other players, regardless of differences in tastes, opinions, or stances.
I expect nothing less than an atmosphere where everyone is free to be themselves and not be bashed or judged for it. For far too long, I've let others walk on even myself, right here on the site, and there's no more of it. If you're a person who thinks that you are free to bash someone because they are different from yourself, and you wish to do this despite the rules, then no amount of justification or blame shifting will save you from your own actions.
In short, everyone here should be able to feel perfectly safe just being themselves, and if you can't tolerate someone because they have different tastes, than this is not the site for you.
Third is a simple notice that players who have abandoned their accounts will be sifted out soon. We will bring it down to people who are still logging in. People who wish to return to the site may do so by re-registering their old account. While it states at the moment that we have 72 members, we in fact, do not, because of a number of people who joined and wandered away, or made an account but not an application...
